A chance to fix atrial fibrillations for most – a new way of “looking at the heart’s beat”
P5 Health Ventures · Dr. Peter Spector – CoreMap
First full disclosure: I recently invested in Coremap. One could say I was talking my book, but I am not soliciting anyone and the company has raised all of the money it needs. Now that this issue is out of the way, let me briefly discuss what they do, why I invested, what we talked about and why you should listen/
- What Coremap “does”: Coremap has designed and is building a testing a catheter system that could grossly enhance the accuracy and thus accessibility (for new patients otherwise thought of not as candidates) of therapeutic ablation. Here is a link to a great 4-minute video created by Cleveland Clinic
- I personally had and retain a great interest in this as 18 years ago, my father had four such procedures that did not work – he ultimately had a pacemaker “installed.” Things are better now, but the vast majority of patients with A-Fib are not candidates for it – and Coremap has a great shot at changing that for many people.
- We went through a history of A-Fib as told through Peter Spector’s eyes, as he has been at the forefront of the development of ablation for A-Fib – as has Sonny Jackman, another doctor who is deeply involved in Coremap as well. Peter is very entertaining – though for some the content is scientific. I felt the time rapidly elapsing and think you will too.
